St. Rose uses the Christ Our
Life curriculum by Loyola Press for religion. Students learn about God our Father, Jesus
Christ our Savior, and the Holy Spirit, as well as Mary, the mother of
God. Students celebrate the holy days
(Feast of All Saints, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, Feast of Pentecost, Feast
of the Ascension) and liturgical seasons (Advent, Lent) with their classes as
well as together with the whole school community at monthly Masses and weekly
prayer gatherings. Students gain an
understanding for religious practices like praying the rosary and the Stations
of the Cross. God’s word is brought to
life with stories from the Holy Bible.
Students learn about the Ten Commandments and what they mean for us
today, as well as the seven Sacraments of the Church. Woven throughout the content of religion is
ongoing conversation about making good choices and how we show our love for God
by loving the world and the people in it.
